In Roman religion & mythology, Janus is the god of time, gates, transitions, and doors. Keeping his gaze steady on the past and future in tandem, he holds space for a specific type of duality. This is why he is the gatekeeper of time and passages. January is named after this Roman God. Universal Love is the binding agent that holds this creation together. The sacred glue that brings the opposites into union. We experience our life-force energy dancing between these polarities. Let's give ourselves permission to move with the rhythm of time.

When we come into this world as innocent fresh babies, we have no language. We discover our voice for the first time through an explosion of sound from our vocal cords. Emotion is present but everything feels abstract and confusing. We are thrown into this world through chaos and change. Our awareness is slowly weaved with experiences, feelings, thoughts. We settle in. We begin to find order. We absorb our surroundings. We discover our first language—energy.

One of the beautiful things about humanity is our unique individuality. This individuality along with experiences and events shape who we are and lead us to our curiosities. It is our birthright and privilege to find our interests and passions and to be resilient. We learn at a young age to start comparing our lives to others. Some are born into family systems with extra hardships and odds. Some seem to have it easy. Unfortunately, we do not get to choose the situation and environment into which we are born. We do get to choose what we make of our situation, how resilient we want to be, and what we decide to aim for. The things we put our energy and attention on are the aspects of our lives that amplify and grow. Choose wisely.
